To all my LGBT friends: Do you ever vote for yourselves if a question you've answered goes to vote?
Don't be shy, it's been known to happen...I do on mine, unless Riverotter7 has answered the same question, I then vote for her.....because it's usually better than mine. Occasionally, I find some other answer too humourous to avoid, so vote for them. So do you?

Otters rule. I have voted for myself when there are no funny or sensible replies.

I vote for my own on occasion, but a lot of times I vote for the no best answer. I figure if the asker did not choose a best answer, then maybe they did not get one and I try to return their points to them. After all they gave me 2 when I answered, and the way I see it, they would get 3 if they picked an answer, but get 5 back for no best, so I give them the 2 points as well. But, sometimes, if I feel I have done a particularly good job answering the question, or it took me a while to do, then I do vote for my own.

I even have under no circumstances electively sent a question into balloting. As a member of the solutions community, i think that if even basically one consumer has taken even purely a couple of minutes to respond to my question with a appropriate and respectful answer, I actually have a ethical accountability to take duty for resolving my question via finding out on a ultimate answer. finding out on a ultimate answer would on occasion be very subjective and complicated, notably if my question replaced into obscure or extensive-ranging and there are countless reliable solutions from people who interpreted the question in a distinctive way or focused their solutions at distinctive components of the question. yet i think of that sending a question to the vote in those situations is very slopy-shouldered. If 8 people each and each spent 0.5 an hour answering, it is 4 hours of attempt i've got extracted from the community. So the least i can do is spend an hour weighing the solutions and making a reasoned and actual looking determination. As a pro answerer in Languages, i recognize that many shoppers elect to deliver their inquiries to balloting for the easy reason that they lack even the minimum point of wisdom necessary to make an counseled determination on ultimate answer. I even have considered this reported many cases. In those situations, one wonders how clever even a reliable answer would be to the questioner.

I vote for myself, unless I see an answer which is better or like you said more humorous.

I almost always vote for myself. It's human nature to be selfish like that. Occasionally there will be a really great answer that makes a good point (or just entertains me) and I'll vote for that one.

I vote for whichever answer I think is the best. Sometimes, it happens to be my own. Most other times, it'll be someone else's. I'm not the best all the time. ;)

Nah, I've never voted on any question other than what I've asked. I'm too busy spouting off here in the Answers section!
