truckinotter
I am a new age pagan person of Traditional Norse and neo-native American Indian beliefs. A happy lesbian with a beloved partner of 28 years. A female in a very male dominated job...over the road now local semi truck driver for over 13 years. Positive in my position and purpose on this round ball we call the Earth. Riverotter7, I love you!
My basement walls have a salt-like crystal on them?
We purchased this house 3 years ago. It was built early 1900's with stone foundation walls, some plastered over. The southwest corner does have some seepage during heavy rains and we run a dehumidifier on and off at those times. A brick wall, heavily plastered, is inset on entire south wall and about 5 feet before the west wall (an abandoned shower stall is in the immediate southwest corner) I discovered much of the plaster rapid disintegration PLUS an almost salt crystal like substance on the underlying brick. What is it? Should I be concerned?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoLGBT how are you at handling holidays with the families?
My partner and I have never had a holiday together in 28 years and I'm getting tired of it. We both love and respect our families very much and don't want to hurt them. But sometimes I get jealous of my brother and his girlfriend, who together jog back & forth between their two families and my partner and I are on two opposite ends of the state, apart, every damn holiday! It's almost as if our relationship isn't as important though we've been together the longest. I'm afraid it isn't gonna change until the parents pass away. Any suggestions anyone?
8 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoHas anyone here in a long term relationship ever switched dominance roles with their partner?
I mean in a more long lasting way, not just occasionally. Like if for several years one partner is more the "female" role then suddenly switches to a more "male" or vice versa
6 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoTo all my LGBT friends: Do you ever vote for yourselves if a question you've answered goes to vote?
Don't be shy, it's been known to happen...I do on mine, unless Riverotter7 has answered the same question, I then vote for her.....because it's usually better than mine. Occasionally, I find some other answer too humourous to avoid, so vote for them. So do you?
14 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoTo all my friends at LGBT: When getting 10 points for best answer do you prefer it by vote or by asker?
I am not on-line except on the weekends usually and cannot begin to compete for points. I'm not really competive anyway and personally think the point system alittle over-rated. I do like the "top contributer" label. And I do get a special tingle when my best answer is chosen by the asker instead of by vote. How do you all feel about it?
15 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoDo you think Lesbians can make good long haul truckers?
I guess we can do anything we want really, but can we be non-threatening to a male dominated job?
12 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoOwner/name of a building in downtown Chicago? Building with a crown on top when lit?
I drive semi from Wisconsin through downtown Chicago several times a week. There is a building, close to the Sears Tower (yes I know it's not named that anymore) that when lit at night looks like a crown on the top of the building. I have asked on the CB and no one seems to know it. I did get one response that it might be owned by White Castle? Is this true?
3 AnswersChicago1 decade agoWhat is your favorite stereotypical ethnic joke?
I love ethnic jokes! A good ethnic joke should reflect culture, history and stereotype of the said race or background. I'm not trying to belittle anyone. I love history! One I heard lately from a comedian spoke of him receiving a guest from Germany and taking her to a New York deli where she exclaimed, "You just can't get a good bagel in Germany." To which he replied," Well, who's fault is that?" So tell me your favorite joke and let's try to keep it tasteful. I know so many that aren't and would love to tell them but I don't want to offend anyone and hopefully Yahoo Answers won't remove this question as too risque...or is that risky????
6 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoSwear words/Exclaimations for alternate/non christian religions?
When we of a pagan denomination use exclaimations of surprise and swear words---c'mon you swear, you know you do--'fess up-- do you use the old christian standbys of Jesus Christ! Or God Damn!??? We tend to say--Name of any Blessed God! or Gods Above and Below! Please explain your religion and epitaph/exclaimation of choice.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoRead all 28 graphic novels called Lone Wolf and Cub? Opinions?
I loved the series when it came out, though at first badly edited for the United States. Now it is finally available, uncut and complete! Anyone else read these? Like or Dislike?
