Catholics, what are your thoughts about the Latin Mass?

The Pope just made a decree allowing greater use of mass in Latin. Are the modernized Catholics willing to go to a Mass in which you have to kneel to receive Holy Communion, listen to Latin, not clap, not shake hands and kiss each other, hear the organ or other suitabe musical instruments instead of guitars...etc..?

I love the 1962 liturgy. The circus atmosphere of the Novus Ordo as commonly celebrated prevents me from properly participating in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

I think this is a new opportunity to experience the great diversity and variety that the Universal Church offers.

Here is the Pope's letter on the subject: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/let...

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles celebrates the Mass in the following languages of the people:

    American Sign Language

    Arabic

    Aramaic

    Armenian

    Cambodian

    Chinese (Cantonese)

    Chinese (Mandarin)

    Croatian

    French

    Garifuna (Ukrainian-Byzantine)

    German

    Haitian

    Hungarian

    Igbo

    Indian

    Indonesian

    Italian

    Japanese

    Korean

    Lithuanian

    Polish

    Portuguese

    Samoan

    Slavonic

    Spanish

    Tagalog (Philippene)

    Tongan

    Ukrainian

    Vietnamese

    and

    African-American Cultural Focus

    Native American Cultural Focus

    and, of course,

    English

and now we can add Latin.

I did like the Latin Masses growing up. I'm used to the Masses now. I think that one Latin Mass should be said on Sunday so the people that want to go to it can.

I am all for it. It is good to have a choice. The sacrificial character of the Mass is more pronounced in the Latin version.

    Peace and every blessing!

I have only been to 4 of them, but they are great. This is what the Catholic Church was like for nearly 1700 years.

It is more of an experience that everyone (Catholic and non-Catholic alike) should have at least once in their life.
