what are the benefits & disadvantages of yahoo answers ?

Advantages:

making friends;

learning new stuff;

sharing opinions;

having fun (laughing a lot)

Disadvantage:

It's addictive!!!! ;)

The disadvantage is that you have a great chance of being given wrong answers. I see an incredible amount of wrong answers.

I see the only advantage as finding an answer from somebody with experience in something that you can't easily find on the Internet.

Most of the users don't even search for the answers with a search engine first.

All benefits, no disadvantages. What disadvantage could there be to everyone being free to ask/answer questions to people all around the world? I find it interesting, fun, educational, uplifting sometimes, and entertaining. I love seeing what's on everyone's mind and seeing so many different views. And I love it when the politicians post questions. Too good!

Its a great tool for answering your questions your friends may not know. I have learned a great deal from people who have answered my questions and many times you get responses within a minute. I asked a question I shut the webpage down. 30 seconds later I opened it back up to re edit my question and some one had already answered it. I see it this way This is an amazing tool to answer all your questions. Its a tool that should not be abused. I try to keep my questions as civil and clean as you don't know who is on the other end answering these questions. It could be from a teenager to a senior citizen so I keep it clean and im always grateful when someone answers my question and that's why I answer other peoples.

Advantages are that you might get a fantastic answer, which really helps you, and you also get more than 1 point of view. And, since we are anonymous here, you can ask a question that would be embarrassing to ask elsewhere.

Disadvantages might be that you don't get your question answered, or the answers you receive aren't correct. (That happened to me, where none of the answers related to my question, and yet -- one of those was chosen as best answer by the voters!)

Many people would be able to check your answers and questions if they knew your play name, they could check in your profile, I think this could be bad if it is someone asking about advise on abuse or relationship issues say if there boyfriend or girlfriend were to check or maybe even parents

I think there are also alot of advantages like to ask a question here like to get peoples views or advice just to communnicate sometimes it is good to ask a question and get simple answers rather than to enter it in a search engine and have to go through many web pages, this also comes up in your history, I think the good thing about this is that you can also hide your email address you dont need to give specific details about yourself, you can get points aswell, and also help others out!

adavantages: awsum information, everyone has a different point of view and you get to see all aspects of it, make new frnds...share the knowledge, broaden ur linf of thoughts and its jus plainly amazing way to spend som time on the internet! i just love YA!

Disadvantage: all i can think of is that it gets very ADDICTING! lol i cant even keep up wid how many hours i spend here at yahoo answers..!
