    1 > 11 + 5x

    -11 > -11

    -10 > 5x

    -10 > 5x

    -2 > x

    or: x < -2

    Well it is hard to show on a computer. But I'll try! Okay you would do -1 on the +1 and > 11 side. Now 1 and 1 cancel each other out so the +1 is gone and 11-1=10. Now you have -5x>10 . So it is multiplication now (-5 x X) So you would -5 /-5 (divide). It cancels itself out. Then 10/-5=-2

    Answer: x > -2

    - 5x + 1 > 11

    - 5x + 1 - 11 > 0

    - 5x - 10 > 0

    - ( 5x + 10) > 0

    5x + 10 < 0

    5x < - 10

    x < -2

    x belongs to (- infinity to - 2)

    all of the answers where x<-2 are right...but also wrong.. its x<-3..heres why...

    when u do the whole problem with x being -2, it comes out as 11>11... and 11 is not greater than 11. the only way x<-2 is if theres a line under the > or < sign in the problem

    with x<-3....

    (-5 x -3) + 1>11

    15+1>11

    16>11

    -5x + 1 > 11 =>

    -5x > 10 (subtracting 1 from both sides) =>

    -x > 2 (dividing both sides by 5) =>

    x < -2 (swapping sides)

    -5x+1>11

    -5x>10

    x<-2

    This is sooo basic, and easy, look here

    -5x+1=11

    now, take 1 to the other side..

    -5x=11-1

    -5x=10

    x=10/-5

    x=-2

    You can try doing all these type of sums, because these sums are that basics!

    Subtract 1 from both sides.

    -5x > 10.

    Divide by negative 5. Note that you have to flip the sign.

    x < -2

    x<-2
