I spent 12 years in the Navy as a Combat Search and Rescue Crewchief/gunner and Rescue Swimmer. Later I commissioned the the USMC. My wife was in the AirForce and my parents were in the ARMY. I have done many joint exercises with all branches. It depends on what you want. In general (excluding the elite SPECOPS of each branch) The Airforce= chairforce, you dont fight you sit on your butt complaining about the office being too cold from the air conditioner. USAF is more technical. The Navy, you spend lots of time at sea. It is also more technical, but has a range from retards to nuclear rates. The ARMY, heh, I wouldnt wish that on anyone. The USMC, every one officers/enlisted are warriors. All are riflemen first and foremost, but if you are looking for discipline, camaraderie, esprit de corps, professionalism, a long line of a service that has saved the free world (you only have to examine Belleau Wood, Iwo Jima, Okinawa among many battles to see the unwavering dedication to duty and fearlessness the Corps has) then you can attempt to become a Marine. You join the other services, you "Become and Marine" if you can hack it. If you are a panzy you need not apply. Marines are the front line against all aggressors that threaten American interests and freedom so it cant afford any panzies in the ranks. muahahhaa

Marine Crops: Do not let you Enter with a G.E.D you need to be 18 with a high school diploma. Their standards are really high. And has the second highest scoring average on the ASVAB. Navy: Do not let you enter with a G.E.D you need a High school diploma. Third Highest Avg. on the ASVAB. Air Force: Do not let you in with just a G.E.D. You need a high school diploma. First Highest Avg. on the ASVAB. Army: Does let you in with a high school G.E.D you need to be 18. Lowest ASVAB score out of all branches. I prefer Marines. Other branches are quantity. Marines are quality. The Navy lets you in with a G.E.D but only a certain number. So you should go to the Recruiting station and request information on that.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're just looking for something close to a 9-5 job, join the air force or navy, both may still get deployed but you won't be on the frontlines unless you decide to try special forces for these two. If you are looking for the most respect, join the Marines but don't join the infantry or you'll be headed to Iraq, try to stay on the aviation side and you'll be ok, still deployable but not on the frontlines, now if you wanna go straight to Iraq, join the army.

Source(s): I was in both the navy and marine corps.

Well it depends on you. What's your asvab score. Air force is really hard to get into. Also its hard to advance. Navy is okay. Marines are hard to get into but once you in your in. Army is nice but war hits by your going over seas. Every year it gets hard to join the service. You need to be able to see color, no flat foot. No bad record. No DWI or DUI. No tatoos that you can clearly see in uniform. New laws passed that you can have tatoos but in reguation. Talk to some people

Good question. It depends on several factors. How close would you want to get to the frontline of a war? What are your interest? What do you want to get from either branch as far as training? Which branch offers the best incentative to join? You may also need to ask yourself some serious questions, like, what are your strongpoints and where would you be your best? Remember, Top Gun, Rambo, and Saving private Ryan were all movies.

air force all the way. as far as point's on your license that's wrong info. but they will run a background check. for your security clearance. so if you have outstanding bill pay them up. you will have a better education. as far as the marines and army big waste of time unless you can find a job as a meat shield somewhere. coast guard would be the next choice. if your unsure talk to a air guard recruiter and they can take you on a tour and you will get an idea of what job's and the enviorment you will be in.

The Air Force is the best branch to get into, but you can't have points on your license, ever been charged with a misdemeanor, etc. The Air Force is very strict to get in to.

Better question, what do YOU want to do.

There all good branches but what do you want from the Military. When you figure that out, talk to a recruiter from each branch.
