Black Labrador Question Regarding Hair?

What is it called when a black labrador fur begins turning brown. I believe it is a gene disorder of somesort, but I am looking for the name or this or what it means. Thank You, Cheryl

Update:

For further reference I do NOT have a dog that has this. I am trying to figure this out. So I don't have anything to take to the vet, I believe it is a gentic disease of some sort, I am just looking for the name. Thank You

    Could it be brindal. (spell?)

That is a type of black/brown that is frowned upon in the lab world.

A black coat fading to brown can indicate a health problem, nutritional deficiency or possibly a genetic disorder. Worth having a vet look at it.

It is worth getting checked out, but don't forget that if your dog is out in the sun a lot, the fur can get bleached by the sun.
