Why are the Rams under-hyped?

Added a good #3 WR in Drew Bennett, added a top ten TE in Randy Mcmichael, drafted a hardworking DT in Adam Carriker, signed the Panthers leading tackler in Chris Draft, traded for Dante Hall (he wont be on the field as a WR becuase Linehan likes 3WR sets and he'll be playing on turf). Just because we didnt sign an overrated CB and 280 LB, doesnt mean we're taking the backseat to overrated teams in the NFC. Rams-2007 NFC West Champs. 49ers suck.

    No, I think you've just over-hyped them.

Since you felt compelled to TRY to respond with something ridiculous again:

    1. The Cardinals-- I've never heard of anyone "silently celebrating" anything by having a sub-500 season this far into the following year and drowning in 3rd place in their division. Don't blame it on pitching. The Braves don't have any SP except Smoltz (who was/is on the DL) and Hudson. We only have a good bullpen. Wickman hasn't been playing well at all this season. So don't bother bringing up Chris Carpenter.

    2. Don't be bitter/jealous that we won FOURTEEN straight Division titles. Yes, there was only one World Series ring despite all of that success, but at least we were WINNING something. No one has or will ever match that success (The Yankees have 9 straight, but they are getting dominated by the Red Sox and will probably end that streak).

    3. The Braves are only a couple of games out of FIRST place in their division behind the Mets who spend over $200 million on their roster. The young Brewers are dominating your division for goodness sake. (Ryan Braun is the future)

    4. Don't make an idiotic point about hockey if you're just going to call it "stupid" only AFTER I just made YOU and your argument look stupid. I'll admit that I don't watch hockey on TV, but watching Thrashers games in person is more entertaining than any other professional sport that I've seen in person. College football is more entertaining in person than the NFL.

    5. Here's a history lesson for you: The Atlanta Hawks ironically were the St. Louis Hawks a few decades ago until they moved to ATL. You can bash the Hawks all you want, everyone knows they're a joke because their GM can't draft worth shiat (they passed over Chris Paul and draft a forward in the first round practically every year). However, at least we HAVE an NBA team.

    6. You can call a piece of crap a Snickers bar all you want, but at the end of the day it's still a piece of crap. Your "AWESOME!!!!!!!! UNDERHYPED!!!!!!!" rams are crap. Your team only had one more win last year than the awful Falcons who had Ron Mexico, no experienced DB's, and no wide receivers.

    7. The Falcons have no offense? The Falcons led the league in rushing for the third consecutive year last season!

    8. To ignorantly stereotype ATL as being "Dog fighting, bird flipping, tobacco chewing rednecks" only further proves you have no idea what you're talking about. Sure, there's probably tobacco chewing and dog fighting still going on in South Georgia, but Vick got indicted for dog fighting in VIRGINIA. And tobacco isn't just a Georgia thing (nor is "bird flipping" for that matter), trust me on that one. Besides, I thought we were talking about ATLANTA SPORTS, not ignorant stereotypes.

Atlanta by and large has already rejected Vick after the bird-flipping, the Ron Mexico incident, the water bottle conspiracy, poor passer ratings, and now the dog fighting. Marcus and Mike are thugs. They are Virginians, NOT Georgians or Atlantans. Since you obviously know nothing about Georgia and it's sports, I'll let you in on a little secret: More people here care about UGA and GT than its pro sports. It's a Southern phenomenon. That's why Athens, GA was ranked #2 in the country for best college sports towns by Sports Illustrated a few years ago.

San Francisco will own the Rams this year. The Rams are underhyped for a reason. Go listen to Nelly and stick to watching sweaty, shirtless, 'roided up actors wrestle each other on WWE.

Source(s): Here is what MikeAwesome said (You can read my response above): 1. Cardinals are silently celebrating our World Series victory. How are the Braves doing? One World Series during all those division titles? Embarassing. 2. Rams are improving. 8-8, 6th ranked offense. Led by Steven Jackson. How are the Falcons? No QB, NO Wr's, No recent Super Bowl wins or appearances, No offense besides your Dog fighting QB who sucks. 3. NHL is stupid. Any team can be good any time. Its a dying sport for a reason. So, as I see it, Atlanta is doing worse than STL. STL- many clutch sport stars, many good role models. ATL- Dog fighting, bird flipping, tobacco chewing rednecks. Yep, Atl sucks a**. STL>ATL]['

The rams aren't underhyped, but neither should they be placed among the NFL's elite teams. They did add Drew Bennett who will be a nice replacement for Kevin Curtis. They did Randy McMichael which now gives Scott Linehan a 2 TE formation wih second year TE Kloppenstien that can block effectively for Steven Jackson and provide options in the passing game out of that formation. But still a minor weak is the Rams defense. Adam Carriker will improve the defensive line with time, but the rush defense which almost finished last needs to be fixed immediately.

Also, you never know what to expect out of the NFC West these days. All of the teams look to be improving and make a run at the division. So the Rams have just as much of a chance to capture the division like anyone else.

The rams aren't under-hyped, they just suck. The 2007 NFC west champs are gonna be the San Francisco 49ers. They have the best secondary in the NFL with Clements, Lewis, Roman, Harris, and Spencer. They also have the top running back in the NFC in Frank Gore. Vernon Davis also looks to have a breakthrough season, and the 49ers look to be playoff conternders. Don't feel too bad though, at least the Rams will have the first pick in the 08 draft. GO NINERS!!!!

Q1. No they arent very good, and the Redskins D kinda sucked. But they are a Jeff Fisher team, and good coaching can decide tight games in the NFL. Q2. Bradford looked better, but he didnt look that much better than RG3. Fred Davis dropped about 3 passes, and Aldrick Robinson dropped a 60 yard bomb, so the stats wouldve read Griffin 24-29, 2TD, 1INT 300 yards, 85 Rushing yards, 2 rushing td's. Dont get carried away, Bradford checked the ball down to Amendola countless times, and the Redskins crappy D helped him alot. Q3. I'm not sure what this means. But Bradford should continue to checkdown to Amendola, he's pretty hard to cover out of the slot and has good hands.

I love the Rams, and always have. I've got them finishing second to - Arizona. They'll get a wild-card bid, though. Seattle finishes third, and the Niners finish DEAD LAST!

If you Niners fans have a problem with that, tough - it's your own damn fault for following such a gay team.

I like the drafting of Carriker. I think Bennett is solid ala Ricky Proehl. I definitely like the thought of Dante Hall returning kicks in blue and gold as opposed to that God-awful red he's been wearing.

I do, however, question the trade for James Hall - are you kidding me with this guy?

I'll also give you four names that you need to remember: Bulger, Jackson, Bruce and Holt.

    Source(s): GO RAMS!!

I 'm a 49er fan and to answer your question in a way to not show the rams suck il tell it to you like this ok.........

1."the greatest show on turf is over"

    2. no More Marshall faulk. S.Jackson can only run the ball not catch and have great agility like his predecessor

3.Mark Bulger has been throwing too much interceptions these last two years .Why didn't they hold on to WARNER?

4.The defense isn't as good as it used to be

5.The 49ers have more talent now than the rams and are now looking good for the future and dominate the west for the next ten years to come

6.The rams aren't hyped because everyone still thinks the west sucks which in fact doesn't because they have the best running backs in the league.

Here's why they are rated as they deserve to be rated:

    2006: (8-8) 2nd in the NFC West

    2005: (6-10) 2nd in the NFC West

    2004: (8-8) 2nd in the NFC West

The Rams are a "Muddled Middle" team, and don't stand a chance in the NFC against the Bears, Saints, 49ers, Seahawks, Panthers, Eagles, or Cowboys. And don't even THINK they have a chance against New England, Indiannapolis, Baltimore, or SAN DIEGO (who killed them last season 38-24)

  • 1 decade ago

Because they havent proved they can be an elite team yet, last year they started of 4-0, and everything went bad from there and they only won 4 more games the whole year.

  • 1 decade ago

I would say it is because of their fanbase. They don't really have a fan base to get excited about the team. STL is a baseball town and the Rams are third fiddle in that town behind Cardinals and the Blues. If they had a larger fan base that was excited they may get more hype.

Because they're the Rams, and they never do anything with the weapons they have. They should be in the playoffs every year with the amount of talent they have, and the last time they were there was like 2 years ago. Thats why.
