When you give a thumbs up...?

A point is given for each thumbs up only if the answer ends up being declared the best. One point is given for each thumb up to about 50. I've never seen any non-celebrity get anywhere near 50. The thumbs up on other answers score nothing at all. No points are scored for thumbs up given after the question is closed.

Yes, they get the point. When I receive my answers, I give all the ones I don't like at all a thumbs down which "closes up" the answer so at the end, if I get "tons" of answers, there are so many to read through. Once you give a thumbs up or down, you can't change it. It's up to you when you give it.

When answering someone else's questions, feel free to give thumbs ups and downs. Just remember, you can't change your mind after you've clicked. You can wait to give a thumb up when best answer is awarded, but you might not make it back to that question to do this......... when it's asked by someone else.

I give all the good replies a thumbs up and still go through all of them to pick the best one.

Good Question! I get so confused on the best answers thing. Sometimes I win and when I go back to look at everyone's answers some people have more votes than me. I wonder how I earned it!
