I need help finding my father!?
I am 30 years old today and I have not seen my father in 16 years. The last place I saw him was in Philadelphia and we had a rocky break.
In 1977 the year I was born my father was in prison and my mom would take me to see him but when she remarried that relationship ended and I did not see him again until I was 13.
My mom does not support my search so I don't have his date of birth or ss# thing that would make it easy this is all the information I have please help.
His name is Angel Nieves a very common name.
He is about 51-52 years old
He is a very handsome Puerto Rican man who I think was born in Puerto Rico but lived in New York.
He has brothers and sisters but I think one of his sisters name is Awilda.
Very important we use to call him Papo and he looks just like Al Pichino in Carlito's Way the movie.
I need to find him I don't want anything from him but to my knowledge I am his only child and I have 3 beautiful children and a wonderful husband and I want
him to know that I am okay and I want to know if he is okay. My oldest child looks just like him I want him to know this.
If anyone knows anything please let me know someone told me he was dead but it was just rumors.
Please help my children are asking about their grandfather and if he wants to know about us it would be great we could be together. If he does not want a relationship it is okay I just need to know if he is okay.

The best way is to go through your mother. Sit down with your mother and tell her how important this is to you. Also speak with her significant other about this and maybe he can get her to give you more information. Is he on your birth certificate? Try to find out his date of birth or even a telephone number. You have the right to know who your father is! If you have to search through your mother's things to find old letters, telephone numbers, address, etc. Also you can ask other family members. Tell your mother that you understand that going in the past can bring hardship, but you are a man and you can deal with it. Tell her that you are willing to hire a detective if she won't assit you and then things may get out of hand. Contact the jail that you use to visit him in and get advice from them. Especially if he is on your birth certificate.
