How to be a Top Contributer?

You have to answer a lot of questions in a certain time period; if you are away for a time, the label will drop away. My first profile, I first earned top contributor in singles & dating, but then went exclusively to religion & spirituality. My label for S&D went away, but I soon earned one for R&S.

If you want to "up" your chance of getting best answer, don't answer questions which you think you are incapable of providing the best answer for!

If someone asks, for example, do you own a car or a truck, and you answer "truck", the chances of you getting best answer is slim! So, avoid answering questions where the question will produce similiar answers.

If you don't know the answer to a question someone has posted, don't answer the question at all! If you do, and type "I don't know what you are talking about" or something similiar, you are not going to get best answer!

If you read a question about something you are very knowledgeable about, or you instantly come up with a very clever, funny response, answer the question AFTER checking to make certain that no one else has already provided the same answer!

I try to be humerous when I can. I also try to only answer questions with answers I believe the asker will find either funny (hopefully hilarious), informative or unique to other similiar answers!

Don't waste your answers on silly "yes" or "no" or "i don't know" answers.

Answer honestly, stick to questions that you know the answer to. Find an area that you have a lot of knowledge or skill in and concentrate there. Write well, with good grammar and spelling. Provide links if you used information on a site or know of one that has additional information. Don't quote whole pages of information. And, mostly, be patient. It will come with time.

Technically you need at least 10% of Best Answers in a specific category to earn TC.

If enough of the answers you give in a certain category are chosen as best answers, you get top contributor status. Mine is for diet and fitness.

General thought is that you get 10% Best Answer in whatever category you choose to excel in
