Erika on AMC ... is it really just me?

Question

I just can't stand her. Never have. I know that w/o her, there's no show, but ayayayay! Seriously, everytime a scene comes on w/ her, I cringe! And the whole Jack & Erika thing is reeeaaaallly just killing me. They're like a coule of teenagers. WORSE! Maybe it's cause I hate real people LIKE her that it just urks me. Controlling, manipulative, primadonna, fake ... I don't know. I really don't think she's a good actor. Am I really alone on this one?

Seriously, she annoys me more than the new Greens. I actually like her. Not the way they make her act sometimes (the writers) but as an actress, I prefer Sabine Singh over Susan Lucci.

I love Susan and I love Erica.  AMC would be nothing without her.  After all, she's Erica Kane!  She must have lots of fans and ABC must like her because she's been on that show for about 30 years.  But I know you can't like everybody.  I like the new Greenlee too.   So many people bash her because they were used to Rebecca Budig.  Gotta give her a chance and not compare her to Budig.   Just fast forward thru Jack & Erica or walk out of the room.  There's a guy on OLTL I can't stand.  So I know how you feel.  One good thing - Susan Lucci takes lots of vacation time.  lol

I think you're reacting to the personality type, I do as well.  I thought it was just the way the writers wrote her, and I'm sure that's part of it, but Susan has been Erica for so long she's a mildly toned down Erica in outside interviews.  

She was in a prime time soap several years ago and I watched once to see if she was different, but alas, it was Erica at night. 

The problem is that the writers are still writing the teenager she was when she first started acting, she's never matured.  

As for the new Greenlee, Yuck. She's abrasive and not even slightly 'cute' which is what made the old Greenlee work, personality and all.  

And yet, of the three ABC soaps, all of which I follow, AMC is the only one that I'm remotely interested in right now.

I don't like the fact that she acts so young when she has grown children .Not only that but it seems new ones keep popping up Binks was suppose to be her one and only then came Kendell then Josh .And thru it all she stays young I know she was only a teenager when Kendell was born.But she has been on the show since it started.and she was 15 or 16.she's in her late 50's I think the show should reflect that..I don't watch any more but I have gone on line or read the Soap Opera Digest while I'm in line at the grocery store

I personally like Erica. In the time I've been watching AMC, I've liked her, and there have been times where she got on my nerves, but overall I do like her :) I think she IS amc

Is that acting?  I think you are seeing pretty much her real personality there.  Do you know Kay?
Sounds like you know her, or someone like her, who molded theirself after the Erica show.  aahhh so disgusting.
