can a 4l60 transmission be converted to have no electronics?
i have a 1994 chevy c-1500 2wd auto 4.3/4l60 i installed a 5.7 engine but the wiring harness is for a 5 speed not a automatic i was told i can buy a 700r4 but they are kind of expensive

ok first u have the 4l60 in but a 5speed harness did u buy something or get it that way, second the 4l60 is a 700r4 but with more electronics. The question at hand the computer for the truck is it for a 4l60,4l80,or the 5 speed that will determine the most. The wiring u may have to just pick up another transmission harness for the motor as long as your transmission is the same as described for the ECM without that the truck won't operate correctly. Also the transmissions in that truck will only fit 93-94 4l60,or the 93-94 4l80, unless it is the 5speed.

no the tcm is the only thing that controls the 4l60 ship points ,shift pressure .......the tcm is seperate from the ecm
