(most solar system mnemonics don't work if you just take off the last word)

w and x are next to each other in the alphabet so xylem carries water in a plant.

phloem sounds like it begins with the letter f so phloem carries food in a plant.

A is before V in the alphabet, so blood enters the Atria of the heart THEN passes into the Ventricles (works on both sides of the heart).

This also works for the eye as Aqueous humour is in front of the lens and Vitreous humour is behind the lens

so hepatic = liver as no l's or n's!!

An easier way to remember how many days are in a month.

Make a fist, look at the top of your knuckles. Take your other hand and touch the pointer knuckle, then the groove, then the next knuckle, then the next groove, etc. and on the pinkie knuckle start backwards (therefore touching it twice). Knuckles are 31 days, grooves are 30 days (28 for February except leap year 29). Like this:

Pointer knuckle-January is 31 days

groove- February is 28 or 29 days

middle knuckle - March is 31 days

groove-April is 30 days

Ring knuckle-May is 31 days

groove-June is 30 days

Pinkie knuckle-July is 31 days

Pinkie knuckle again (to start backwards) - August is 31 days

groove-September is 30 days

ring knuckle - October is 31 days

groove-November is 30 days

middle knuckle - December is 31 days
