What could possibly have motivated those teenage girls in Santa Rosa, CA to set that poor ktty on fire???

Have you seen the article and the picture of that poor little cat? What in the hell were those kids thinking??? WHAT MOTIVATED THEM TO DO IT?

I can't imagine that these two girls are made of sugar and spice! They obviously have some emotional issues and need counseling! Especially at 15 years old...they know better. I'm glad they are pressing charges...but more so I hope that they get these two girls into some serious rehabilitation and make them care for sick and dying animals/people, whatever! Or maybe someone should set them on fire and see how they like it!

I know how that goes. I'm 22 and my husband is 26, and he has a little brother who is 7. It does get annoying when we go out with my in-laws because everyone assumes that he is our child. We even got his brother a shirt that says "I'm the little brother" because so many people think he's ours. (And we got looks for it, because no one thinks I'm 22. They assume I'm between 16-18. I look younger than I really am.) I've learned to ignore the looks and comments. Also, if it really bothers you that much just turn around and tell them how proud you are to be a big sister. You shouldn't have to feel embarrassed because your siblings are that much younger than you are. Actually its becoming more and more common these days to have that large of an age gap. (One of my classmates from high school has a brother who was born the year after we graduated.) If anything, you making a simple statement about how great your siblings are, and make sure to mention in the statement that they are your siblings, it will embarrass the people who give you the dirty looks and made rude comments. Just learn to let it go. People will think what they want, and some of them don't care if their initial assumptions are incorrect.

Sorry, cannot watch these things. I see them forever but I take it the cat lived from one of the answers.

The girls need some serious help. I hope they get the stiffist sentence possible and not just a slap on the hand. When it comes to the animal versus these girls, I'm afraid my idea of punishment would propably put me in jail as well.

you would think it was drug induced, however, i saw boys only 9 years old do the same thing when i was in the boys home and they were just being mean. no drugs. nothing new. they also hand cats from trees just for the hell of it. Freudians think it shows hatred for women authority fugues like moms, dorm leaders, etc. big nurses like "one flew over the cuckoos nest" are supposedly to blame. girls maybe be the same. they want some payback. something about a cat.

From a psychological standpoint, it seems that these girls are looking for attention and might even be sociopaths, although I did not read if they felt remorse or not. People who do things like this just for the hell of it are seeking stimulation in their lives. Perhaps they were angry at someone and took it out on a cat....when someone hurts us, we tend to hurt those who cannot defend themselves. Poor cat! Things like this just make me shake my head and wonder where the parents are.

Hatred and sickness of the mind. Talk about a lack of parental responsibility, these kids make me sick. I think making them work at a shelter or something similar where they have to clean cages, feed the animals or dispose of animal remains would be appropriate, make them see the value of a life, no matter how small.

Probably sick "education", including "education" of justifying wars of aggression. Besides some "God fearing" Evangelists "believe" cats-or some kinds of cats-"resemble the Devil"-or something stupid and absurd of this kind.

That cat looks angry. I haven't read or listened to their reason so beyond the angry eyes of the cat, I can not give a reason or comment.

they could've thought that it would be entertaining,

they could've wanted to get back at someone or take revenge,

or maybe they were under the influence of someone or something
