Do you truly believe that Al Qaeda is stronger than ever?

At the beginning of the war the media showed videos of thousands of Al Qaeda members training.

Now they show 3 Al Qaeda members practicing Karate with a headline "Al Qaeda is stronger than ever." And they show this same video over and over again.

What do you think?

It seems hard to believe with all these successes.

In Iraq- 45 out of Iraq's 55 Most Wanted have been captured or killed.

In the overall War on Terror- 18 of the top 25 Al Qaeda members have been captured or killed.

56 of the top 58 most wanted al Qaeda linked terrorists in the Saudi Kingdom have been killed or captured.

Since 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9-11 were Saudi Arabian, wouldn't you think this news from Saudi Arabia would be good news for the US?

Here are more numbers on the War on Terror via Security Watchtower from last year:

Al Qaeda Global losses in the War on Terror (2001-2006)

    * "In the ensuing war on terror, some 2,000 Al Qaeda fighters have been killed or captured." - Strategic Survey's estimate in May 2004 (Source)

    * "...nearly 80 percent of Al Qaeda’s operational leadership and membership in 102 countries has been killed or captured." - Rohan Gunaratna in summer 2004 (Source)

    * "Since September 2001, over 3,000 al-Qaida suspects have been detained in over 90 countries." - White House on 1 July 2003 (Source)

    * "...about 3,000 al Qaeda members have been detained or arrested by about 90 countries, of which 650 are under U.S. control." - CRS Report for Congress on 10 February 2005 (Source)

    * "Altogether, more than 1,600 terrorists and their supporters have been arrested or detained in 95 foreign nations." - White House on 20 Apr 2002 (Source)

    * "Of the top 37 top al Qaeda operatives identified by U.S. agencies after September 11, 2001, 15 have been captured or killed." - CRS Report for Congress on 10 February 2005 (Source)

    * "Over 400 individuals and entities have been designated pursuant to Executive Order 13224, resulting in nearly $150 million in frozen assets." - White House on 5 Dec 2005 (Source)

    * "...more than 55 terrorist leaders and planners had been captured or killed since 9/11" - Department of Defense in April 2003 (Source)

    * "Between 2,000 and 4,000 Al Qaeda-linked individuals have been detained in dozens of countries." - Free Press Washington on 11 September 2004 (Source)

    * "Indonesian Vice-President Jusuf Kalla, spoke with reporters about the terror threat and said that "no country in the world has caught more terrorists than Indonesia", citing over 200 terrorists who have been captured or killed, many of whom were tied to al Qaeda's southeast Asian arm, Jemaah Islamiyah." Yes, all 16 US intelligence agencies have concluded that Al Qaeda is stronger than ever. They wouldn't lie on this basic conclusion any more than they lied when they sent Bush as Presidential Daily Brief in August 2001 which said that Al Qaeda was determined to strike in the US and planned to hijack airplanes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are stronger.

One we didn't kill them when we had them on the ropes in Afghanistan.

Two we toppled the only secular leader in the region and allowed Al Qaeda to use that for the training video.

Three we never secured our borders so who's to say how many are here.

If we get hit again, then yes they are stronger and I put all the blame and casualties on Bush.

I think there are more people claiming to be Al Qaeda. Truth is they are nothing more then angry "posers".

AQ cannot foster a stong network of terrorists. You heard the phrase, 'Too many chefs in the kitchen'. Same concept at work there.

Do you believed the US is as strong as ever, after losing over 3500 soldiers? Well it look like to proved that man are expandable, and has nothing to do with the state of forces... Iraq has been a training playground for Al-Quaeda, and the US have only helped them getting more marthyr for their cause, so of course, this whole war did not help the US at all, it only help Al-Quaeda, as they keep coming in Iraq, while they have a lot of leeway elsewhere to grow, as the US has invade the wrong country, if he was really looking to end the terrorist attack!! Actually, I even believed that the US ''help'' them in a way to recover faster... So you must not forget that terrorists recruits by ideology, and if they show that they have power over the US, then this ideology increase in meanings, which in turn increase recruitments. If the US can`t beat their ideology, then they can`t lose! This war is not about how many died, its about ideas and ideals, as long as those exist, they will exist! Its their reasons to be...

If being able to kill more unarmed innocent civilians in shopping areas is considered being stronger, than I guess so.

Al Qaeda is on the ropes and grasping at anything they can to stay alive. They and the other cowards that use the name of Alla to murder innocent people and advance their perverted version of Islam are seeing their days numbered. Even their own countrymen are getting fed up and turning on them.

No I don't think they're stronger than ever.

I also don't think they're weaker than ever, and that's unacceptable to me. We had an opportunity to destroy them, but we went to Iraq instead.

Now our hand is played, and Al Qeada is making moves in Pakistan while we're still bogged down in Iraq.

I think they have regained some strength, but not back to where they once were. They no longer have secure large scale training facilities or integrated command control & comunication.

I think they are MADDER THAN EVER and enlisting our liberal media to help them with their propaganda. They are MAD because we ARE defeating them and stopping their plans for future attacks.

Will they keep trying to harm us - YES - we need to wipe them out and WIN this war.

And until the media and the liberals are on OUR side...we will only hear how strong Al Qaeda is and how weak we are. Pathetic.

Its the republicans who say they are stronger.
