Has anyone noticed that High School Musical IS Grease?

There are tons of similarities. Both main characters(sp?) meet at another place on vacation, then they end up at the same school. There friends dont approve. Sandy and Gabby both sing at one point about it.. Sandy: when shes at the sleepover and Gabby: when shes in the school and then looks out the window and down below is the whole school and then walks throuhg the school singing. Imean dont get me wrong I LOVE both movies and there are differences, but is that what it was ment to be (Grease remake) or did they just secretly rip parts of Grease off? Just answer with thoughts

    Yes that was the whole idea to make a modern grease....

    To me it also something like Grease without the leather jackets and pink leather jackets,but with a very younger group of students.Iloved Grease 1 and 2 and I also love High School Musical. I can not wait until August 17 for High School Musical 2.

    I was never into musicals and I thought Grease sucked...but I think it was just suposed to be an update for a newer group of kids...meaning the kids born in late 90's early 00's.

    I've seen both of those movies and just realized that there so similar! HSM is such a rip off! Either ur a genius or i just didn't notice the obvious

    Yeah, and at the end of both movies the school is singing together.

    I like both movies, too. John Travolta is sexy.

    Zac Efron...is not. I used to think he was cute on Summerland, though.

    you werent supposed to notice Hollywood hasnt put out anything original in hundreds of years, Hence Rocky 17, Big Brother 50 yet idiots still eat it up

    Yes I noticed the similarities. I guess they ran out of good ideas and had to copy is all I can figure out..
