Quick, easy crafts for women?
I am in charge of crafts for a women's group this fall/winter/spring, and wondered if anyone had ideas? This is a church-related group of adult mother's of young children. I have *lots* of ideas of my own, but was hoping to get a few more from someone else. We are limited to just 20-30 minutes of craft time, and budgeted to just $2 per project per woman. I realize those are some tight guidelines, but there are some things I've found! Any suggestions?
Thank you!

I would recommend making jewelry. It's something really nice that's relatively inexpensive.

Get paper mache little picture frames and decorate w/beads, sand, etc. Go to a craft store and look around. Pat Catan's (craft store in OH) has a bargain section so look for one of those in your store. Try looking at kits; some are for 1 project, some are for up to 12. The ones I'm thinking of all have to do with little foam projects so it might be too cheap looking.
Go on familyfun.com. A lot of times they have cute ideas. I work at a daycare and have got ideas from that site before.
Good luck! OH--make picture frames from popsicle sticks!

I agree with the first answer. There's no glue mess or paint involved. You can buy a package of straight wires and some beads and they can make a pair of earrings in about 5 or 10 mins. Then you just bend the with end of the wire into a loop so the beads don't fall off and put them on the wire earrings which you can pick up anywhere cheap also.

Hello, I know that this does not relate to activities that you would be able to do together at the same time. However, there is a very cheap alternative for creating great looking pages for photo and arts layouts called digital scrapbooking.
There are plenty of free kits and embellishments to make great looking pages for photos, and all it costs you is the ink to print them out.
Maybe for an exercise for your group would be to give your group (e-mail) some page layouts, tell them to put them together with their photos, and bring them in for comparison one day.
Check out the blog link, which has freebies and kits, and there are other link sites from there that you will find many freebies as well.
Hope this helps and have fun!

You could do embroidery on flour sack tea towels. You can usually find the towels at Walmart, 6 to a pack, and the floss is very cheap and can be shared. Another place to look for supplies is a Goodwill. They always have plastic bags full of laces and yarns and such for pretty cheap.
