Is Chipper Jones rookie card worth anything?

I'm just curious because I found his 1991 Upper Deck card today when I was going through my cards from when I was a kid. It says "Top Prospect" on it, and the only stats on the back are for when he play for the Gulf Coast team the previous season. Maybe I'm assuming its a rookie card.

I have a Chipper Jones rookie card and by they way you decsribed yours you do to. But sorry to say I looked up how much it is worth and it's worth just 5 bucks, that is if you were to sell it now. But maybe when he retires you could make 50 to 100 dollars on it. So hold on to it. I know I am.

Hey Chris, Mantle didn't have a .300 ba for his career. I would hold to the card though since it isn't worth much now. It might be listed for $5, but I bet you could only get maybe $2 for it. I probably have 25,000+ cards. I'm just hoping one day the market turns again. Hopefully by the time I am 70 I can make a quick buck to use for retirement!

The value of cards as gone way down. They make way to many rookie cards with way too many brands even though upper deck is a good brand. Baseball cards are not worth anywhere near what they were. I have over 1000 and that's sad to say as i used to collect.

It probably is not worth a lot right now, but if he ever gets into the Hall of Fame or has a shining moment such as MVP or World Series MVP, the value would rocket up into the $100s.

You might want to hold on to that.

As of today he is one of only two players in MLB history to total:

    +2,000 hits

    +300 home runs

    +1,000 RBI

    +.300 BA

as a switch hitter. The only other player? Mickey Mantle.

Don't forget his MVP award in 2000.

That's from Upper Deck's Minor League set, if it has a silver star on the back. The regular set, with a silver baseball diamond on the back, is a couple of dollars due to mass production.

if it is actually a rookie card, it could be worth quite a bit when he retires, especially in atlanta.
