What to do about worm.luder.a.41?

I have AVG virus protection and yesterday it found the signature for WORM/LUDER.A.41 It supposedly cleaned it up, but today it is detecting it again. MS Windows Defender isn't seeing it at all. I also recently downloaded Spybot to clean adware. Could these be related? Two questions, how do I get rid of the Luder worm? And is this probably the reason my computer has been hanging up when I am trying to reach certain websites? At least several times a day I have been having to "End Task" because it is getting hung up while looking for websites. Thank you.

Don't know why your computer is hanging, but something like this might be the cause. But there are many possible causes.

Malware that returns after being found and fixed/deleted has infected your registry (startup), so it will return when you reboot.

    To clean such stuff out:

Update your AVG and Spybot (and any other spyware protection you may be using).

Turn off system restore (right click My Computer, choose Properties, then System Restore tab) and restart in safe mode (F8 while restarting).

Run full-system scans, spyware and antivirus.

Restart your computer. Turn system restore back on.

It may be useful to clean your registry, too, after cleanup. I use Ccleaner (free; "issues" on its menu--accept the offer to backup the registry changes just in case, although I have had no problems using it).

www.kaspersky.com << Get the FREE 30 day trial.

This AV has the best detection and is GREAT. To the guy at the top, my Dad installed F-Secure on his relaively new PC, and it slowed it down to a slow crawl. ^_^
