  • Do they verify identification/full legal name of people sent to prison?

Looking at a crime supposedly committed in London,1972 where person was jailed. However, it turns out his legal name was completely different from the name he was raised with and he never knew about it until he applied for a passport years after that. Surely, if he was imprisoned he would have known his real name (from birth certificate). Rather a frightening thought if identification isn't actually verified for prisoners. Please help.

  • Apple iPhone bluetooth headset with iTouch?

Some one gave me a new (unused) old Apple iPhone bluetooth headset - yes the one that is discontinued now. I have an iTouch 2nd Gen, and just upgraded the software so that it has Bluetooth capability. I was hoping to listen to music through it. I can't get them to pair up. I turned Bluetooth on in my iTouch and set the headset to be discoverable, but they aren't seeing each other. Has anyone done this? If so, what am I missing? Or are they even compatible? Thanks!

  • Can I get my money back through my credit card for services not received if company is now bankrupt?

I pre-payed for a class for my kids for this summer, and have now found out the company is shutting down and likely declaring bankruptcy, thus not providing the classes. I payed for it with my Discover Card. Will I be able to go through Discover and get my money back or will that not work due to the bankruptcy? Thanks.

  • Why is my 3 y.o. chewing on his shirt?

My 3 y.o. has recently started a habit of chewing on his shirts - while he is wearing them. He pulls the neck up to his mouth and sucks. It is nasty. His shirts are soaked all day. And I have to change his sheets every day because he sucks on his pillowcase at night. He doesn't seem to chew on anything else, nor do I notice him doing it at any particular time. It isn't really when he's nervous or hungry, or anything like that. I do keep trying to make him stop, but he is just not getting it. Has anyone had this happen? Any ideas how to stop it. He was never a paci baby, and neither is his little sister so it isn't that. Thanks.

  • Should I chill a bottle of wine unopened or opened?

I have an automatic single bottle wine chiller that brings the wine to the correct temp for drinking. Should I open the bottle before or after I put it in there? Thanks.

  • Where should my son's fine motor skills be as he turns 3?

I know there is no set answer, but I am looking for a general guideline. My son turns 3 next month and is doing well with everything as far as learning his letters and sounds, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. However, he isn't really interested in coloring or drawing at all. He has never done anything but scribble. He has friends about his age that draw basic pictures or write letters. Is this something I should be concerned about? He also won't catch a ball or drerss himself, are there other things I can do to help his fine motor skills? Thanks.

  • Should I pay for parents' food at a b-day party at Chuck E Cheese?

I booked a birthday party for my soon to be 3 year old at Chuck E Cheese. We plan on inviting about 10 kids from his playgroup and church. It is on a Saturday lunch time. Would it be expected for me to also pay for pizza for the parent(s) who bring the kids? I am thinking I probably should since they are nice enough to bring their children, right?

  • Why is key working on handle, but not dead bolt?

I just had two new keys made for my house. My original key works on both the door handle locks and the dead bolts, but the new ones only work on the door handle locks. The same is true for the front and back doors, so I don't think it is a problem specific to one lock in a door. Why is this, and is there a way I can get a key made that will work on both without having to get a locksmith in? Thanks!

  • How to seal porous tile floor in new home?

We are about to purchase a newly built home and the builder told us we will need to seal the tile on the kitchen floor and in the shower surround. The tile in the kitchen looks very porous. We are not really good DIY'ers. Should we hire someone to do it, or is it easy? What kind or product will we need, or if we hire someone what is an approximate cost/sq ft. TIA

  • How to find out if this is insurance fraud...?

I own a kennel in the Dallas, TX area. We have a client who had boarded their dog with us due to their home being damaged by fire. They had us fax an invoice to a number which they said was their insurance company. They then told us that they received a check and are waiting for it to clear and they will come and pay us and collect the dog. It has now been several weeks and they are not returning phone calls or a letter. I am wondering if they got the check and just decided they'd rather keep they cash and have abandoned their poor dog with us. All I can think to do it fax a letter to this number and explain, but I don't really know for sure it is an insurance company or if they would even care. Other than just taking it to small claims court, any suggestions on what to do? Thanks.

  • Dark red accents in paint - help!?

We are planning on adding some deep rose red accents to ur yellowish beige painted walls, particularly in the dining area. Woud it be better to paint under the chair rail red or rather just do one wall in red. We also have celing trays - should we paint the inside of those, or would that be too much? If anyone can link me to some cool pictures of this look, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

  • Has anyone used the "Fundamentals" educational DVDs for toddlers?

My 26 month old son loves Preschool Prep Co DVDs, but has already learned everything they offer (Letters, Numbers, Shapes, Colors & Sight words). I am looking for something that will help him with the next step in his education. I saw the Fundamentals 1 and 2 DVDs on Amazon, but can't find many reviews on them. He never liked Baby Einstein or Sesame Street or Barney. He really seems to thrive on the things that seem most boring to parents!

Also, please don't bother answering if you only want to criticize me for allowing TV to help him learn. For the record, I do work with him every day with books and singing, and he almost always plays actively with his train set while he watches his DVDs. The kid doesn't sit down! I am about to have another baby and want him to have something new to help him with the transition. Thank you.

  • How much should I ask in compensation for dented refigerator door?

I have contractors in my kitchen who have pushed my refrigerator against the island and caused a long scratch and dent across the front of it. It wasn't new, but was in very good condition before this. How much is fair that I should ask in compensation since it is not repairable? Thank you.

  • When will Babies R Us have the next big sale or coupons?

Some people seem to be "in the know" when it comes to when certain stores schedule sales or their next big coupon books. I am having a baby in late February and need to get some furniture and a new stroller. I like to be ready and plan well ahead, but if they are going to have a sale anytime soon, I should wait to save some money since I need to buy so much. It's my second baby so I am not having a shower, so I really need to save where I can.

  • How can I prevent yellowing in stored clothing?

I just got out some of my son's stored baby clothing to recycle for the next baby, and a lot of the white and light things have that horrible yellowing in places. Most of the clothes have been stores for only 12-18 months. I was surprised it happened that fast. So two questions... 1) Is there a good way to get these stains out, and 2) How can I prevent it in the future. I did wash everything and store them in plastic containers with lids away from light. Thank you.

  • How long does the US Citizenship Oath Ceremony take?

And do they start on-time? I will be taking it in Plano, Texas one morning. My problem is that I have my son in a morning daycare, but don't know if I will need to arrange for extended care for him if it takes a long time. Thank you.

  • Two story home with open balcony. Dangerous for kids?

We live in a two-story home with a balcony that is open to the hard tiled foyer. The wood railed banister is a standard height. I am worried that my kids might decide it would be fun to try to climb over it or (may God forbid) try repelling or jumping down. Is this a legitimate worry or am I scaring myself over nothing? My son is under 2 and is already piling toys up next to it and climbing. Obviously he is always supervised right now, but what happens when he is older and in a bed he can get out of? I know some people suggest gating the kids room, which would be fine for a year or so, but I am sure he'll figure out how to climb that before long. Our bedroom is downstairs and both children's rooms are up! I am seriously considering selling and buying a single story. Has anyone ever actually heard of kids hurting themselves in a situation like this? (No details please.) I am just trying to figure out if we should really consider moving.

  • Drool rash in a toddler?

My toddler has had what I think is a drool rash around his mouth and for a little over a week now. I think it is a drool rash because he just got two new teeth a couple of days ago and has been drooling quite a bit. No fever, no other symptoms other than a runny nose. He had this problem when he was very young and the pedi had me use a little hydrocortisone which worked wonders in a couple of days. We didn't have any more issues in about a year, but now it is back. The hydrocortisone isn't working now, and I have also tried Aquaphor and vaseline several times a day for a few days in a row. I am doing my best to keep it clean and dry. I don't think it is yeast because the inside of his mouth is totally normal. It isn't showing any signs of improvement. I called the doctors office and the nurse just said it was just due to teething and unless there is fever or other issues there is nothing they can do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • What to do about worm.luder.a.41?

I have AVG virus protection and yesterday it found the signature for WORM/LUDER.A.41 It supposedly cleaned it up, but today it is detecting it again. MS Windows Defender isn't seeing it at all. I also recently downloaded Spybot to clean adware. Could these be related? Two questions, how do I get rid of the Luder worm? And is this probably the reason my computer has been hanging up when I am trying to reach certain websites? At least several times a day I have been having to "End Task" because it is getting hung up while looking for websites. Thank you.
