For those in third trimester, what are you doing to stay comfy in the summer?

I know it's unlikely we'll feel 100% comfortable at this point, I was just wondering if you have found any tricks that have helped you a bit.

Thanks for sharing your ideas

    Hiya hun.

Im currently nearly 32 weeks and uncomfy. I like to use one of those ice packs , on my back, head.. lol anywhere.

I try to drink lots of water, and eat fresh fruit, take gentle excercise, and rest when I need it.

Keeping calm by listening to a calming cd, theres some fab ones for pregnant ladies.

Explaining to people I may not be about so much as I need rest.

Loose fitting clothing is a must. Cool baths I love.

Aromatherapy candles, altho please check these are safe to use in pregnancy!

    Lots of nice back rubs.

Chilling out as much as allowed with two other children lol.

Catching up with friends on the phone/net etc.

    Hope this helps sweetheart

    And all the best

I am almost 31 weeks pregnant, due in late September. When my second child was born in late June, I thought THAT was miserable. HaHa! I get to spend the entire third trimester dealing with summer heat.

I drink plenty of fluids, mostly water. I keep ice in it so that it stays cold longer. It is more refreshing that way, but I actually read that room temperature water is better for your body-it absorbs it more readily.

I try to stay in the air conditioning as much as possible.

Instead of taking a shower early in the morning or late at night, I tend to take them midday recently. Even a hot shower cools me down after I get out.

    I swim a lot!

I carry a wash cloth with me, and a bottle of water, everywhere I go. This way I can constantly wash my face-I hate the icky feeling if I do not do so, and it cools me down somewhat.

I do my best to avoid being outside in the hottest part of the day.

Hi Daisy! I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant too, due August 16. It's so difficult to stay cool during the summer since our volume of blood has doubled from being pregnant. I constantly have to keep a fan next to the bed while I'm sleeping. (even though I freeze my poor husband out of the room) and central air is a pregnant womans best friend. Be sure to wear light weight clothes when going outside. I wore sweatpants outside the other day and felt like I was going to have a heat stroke!

Im 31 weeks pregnant and it appears like I've been pregnant ceaselessly. My Mum continues telling me that as quickly as I hit the 35 week mark I will likely be getting extra fearful and worried approximately the little one coming and wishing I used to be again on the 31 week mark, however correct now I can not appear to look it like that. I have eight extra weeks to head and its like suffering. I am having an non-compulsory c-phase at this degree that's if I do not move into labour earlier than then. Congratulations in your being pregnant.

air conditioning!! swimming laps is a great way to cool down and reduce swelling. Wearing nothing but undies around the house! Lots of light maternity sun dresses.

Also plenty of baths really helps stay comfortable.

I'm 35 weeks and this summer heat is terrible! I drink lots of water, Gatorade, Propel and eat fruit (watermelon is the best because its so juicy)! This really helps alot. I started having contractions with no dialation @ 32 weeks, so my doctor wants me to drink 2-3L of fluids a day. If you get dehydrated your uterus will start to contract- which is no fun!

Ive been going to the pool with my kids to relax and when I get hot, I swim. It feels great and makes me feel lighter :) Other than that, honestly, I cant get comfy. I just try to rest as much as possible and wear my comfy pajamas when indoors! Good luck to you, you're almost there!
