after the birth...?

What happens to your belly immediately after you have the baby, like in the hospital? Is it still hard for a little while? Or does it go squishy?

Different people different things happen. Right when your baby comes out assuming a vaginal birth you will feel your bellie drop like you took a deep breath and let it go really quilckly.. your bellie to the touch will feel kind of squishy but you will be able to feel you uterus which will feel like a hard ball in you bellie. when you get up to walk your bellie will feel kinda heavy like you feel the need to hold the bottom of your bellie. How long it stays like that depends on the person. Breastfeeding does help your uterus contract and go down faster but also some people do nothing and w/n a couple weeks look like they never had a baby. It just depends on the person. The most important thing is right after birth and while you are in the hospital get your nurse to massage your uterus as well as do this when you get home this also helps it to contract and go down faster I have seen people that does not have this done and they still look like they are 5 months a week after they give birth. My nurses have always done this to me and w/n a couple weeks my uterus is back to normal size.

It is pretty squishy after the birth but still a little big. You look a few months pregnant. It can take several months for your stomach to conract and it will not flatten as much with second or third pregnancies as it will after a first because the skin is so stretched.

I had a splash one a month in the past. I additionally had a midwife. I have been given caught at 5cm with contractions a million after the different and that i could no longer take it anymore. i needed an epidural, which meant that i became a pass of care. My midwives stayed with me the comprehensive time nonetheless, and have executed the placed up-delivery visits to boot. I had 2 epidurals, neither of which worked (and the healthcare expert had no concept why), so I had a spinal block, or notwithstanding this is they provide you once you have a c-area, yet no longer as stable. It became meant to final 4 hours, yet merely lasted one. I then had to beg them to grant me some morphine (which failed to do lots). So in reality what i'm saying, is locate out in the journey that your midwife has medical institution privileges. I had my daughter 12:19am Sunday morning and have been given out Monday afternoon, yet i will have left in the previous, or stayed longer.

stays hard for a little while and then it goes squishy and when you lay on your side it just lays there like some creepy animal...but breastfeeding helps your belly and your uterus go back to close to normal size again

It gets soft and squishy. Then it's up to you to tone it back into shape.
