Why do some liberals want Fox News taken off the air?

Are they scared of another opinion? If they have their ducks in a row why do they see this channel as such a threat? What is wrong with having more than one opinion in the news? Why has Fox done so much better than all the others? Is this a tatic taken out of the play book of communist, if they don't like the opposition, silence them. Hugo has threatened to expel anyone who criticizes him, is this like the liberals hatered of Fox and Rush? Why can they not live with different opinions? Whats wrong with debate?

Ive been contemplating some very weighty matters of late. Is there a God? What is the meaning of life? Why do liberals hate Fox news?

Lets leave the small stuff to smaller minds and get to what is truly important: Why, indeed, do liberals detest Fox News with such burning passion? Why do they hate Bill O'Reilly more than Osama bin Laden and almost as much as Dick Cheney? Why, in places like Upper West Side of Manhattan, do their eyes roll reflexively at the mere mention of the words, "Fox News," in much the same way as your leg jerks when the doctor hits your knee with a rubber hammer?

Why, in other words, does Fox News loom so large in the fevered liberal imagination? Why do they see it as a fire breathing monster with frightening powers aimed at destroying the Democratic Party? Why, especially considering that there are 300 million people living in this country and on any given night only about 2 million are watching Fox News, would any rational person think Fox News is the Evil Empire?

The key word, my friends, is "rational." After much study and consideration, I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing even remotely rational about the fear and loathing of Fox News. I have come to the conclusion that liberals who hate Fox are sick. They suffer from a mental disorder that some of us called... drum roll please.... "Fox derangement syndrome" (FDS). Since those who are afflicted with fox derangement syndrome are irrational, and unable to decipher the root causes of their hatred, let me try to unravel the mystery.

First, more than a few liberals with chronic FDS don't actually watch Fox News. They don't have to. Everyone they know inside the liberal bubble hates Fox News, so, naturally, they hate it, too. Ive spoken to people who detest Rush Limbaugh, and when I ask how often they listen to him, they say "Well... never." For many on the left, its the same with Fox. Still, there are some tidbits about Fox they have managed to pick up. One is that some evil son of a ***** named Roger Ailes, who used to work for Ronald Reagan, runs the place. Check please! Case Closed! What more do they need to know, for crying out loud?

What about Fox's Conservative bent-the fact that its not just one more liberal TV news outfit? Does that make liberals angry? Of course it does. Just as the other networks liberal bent makes conservatives angry. But if you actually watch Fox, you soon discover that they have tons of smart liberals on the air, debating the issues of the day. Tons. Theres Susan Estrich, who ran Michael Dukakis's presidential campaign. And Lany Davis, who used to work for Bill Clinton. There's Eleanor "Rodham" Clift, who works for Newsweek and sounds like a flak employed by the democratic National Party. There's always some left-wing civil liberties lawyer on, complaining about how bad conservatives are. And the Prince of Leftistan, Michael Moore, was even on one night.

All those lefties getting so much face time on Fox should make your run of the mil liberals very happy, right? But if doesn't, why? Two reasons: First, they don't even notice the liberals of Fox, in much the same way that a fish doesn't notice the water hes swimming in. Seeing liberals on the news seems so natural to liberals that it doesn't' register as any big deal. Second, they do notice the conservatives who are debating the liberals. They stick out like the proverbial sore thumb. And their very presence, actually, their very existence makes liberals mad.

This anger leads to a debilitating disorientation. Libeals, remember, are used to getting their news from CBS, PBS, NBC, and ABC They arent accustomed to seeing conservatives on television. Can you imagine how they must feel, the poor darlings, the ones who actually watch Fox, that is when they tune in to Hannity and Colmes? They hate Comes, the liberal, because he isnt crazy enough for them. And they hate Hannity because, well, because hes a conservative. The agony must be unbearable.

And you know what else drives them bonkers? Fox's "Fair and Balanced" slogan. Oh, how they hate it! Its like a sharp stick in their eye. How, they scream, can a news operation possibly be "fair and balanced" when it has the gall to present both sides of the argument!

But as much as liberals detest the slogan, theres something , make that someone, they detest even more. And that would be the anti Christ himself, Yes, Bill O'Reilly! True blue liberals despise him more than everyone else on the network, combined. Yes, Bill can be overbearing and even toplofty. (look it up, as Bill might say) But thats not really why they hate him. They hate O'Reilly because hes not one of them. They hate him because hes got lots and lots of fans who love him, ordinary Americans who dont live in New York City, who dont hang on every sarcastic word Frank Rich or Maureen Dowd writes in the New York Times, who dont go to the incredibly boring foreign films because thats what sophisticated people are supposed to do, and who dont think France is a beacon of light in an otherwise dark and dreary world.

But heres a bulletin that liberals somehow manage to miss: Bill O'Reilly is one of the very few anchors on cable TV who have actualy uttered the words, "thats a good point" to someone they other disagree with. When was the last time one of their heroes, like Michael Moore or Dan Rather, for that matter (who even in exile is still standing by his Memogate story), said something like that?

But nothing you say about Fox News to someone suffereing from FDS ever makes even a tiny dent. Their minds are made up. As far as they're concerned, anyone who has anything to do with Fox,first and foremost, is a moron. This is their great certainty in life, that gives libs with Fox derangement syndrome elusions of grandeur, oddly it doesnt really give them comfort. It just makes them even angrier.

So, in the end this isnt about Bill O'Reilly, or Sean Hannity, or Brit Hume, or Roger Ailes, or anybody else at Fox In the end , this is about liberals themselves and the serious psychological problems theyre having adapting to a changing world. Thats what this is; and the other so called mainstream media had a lock on the news. It made them feel safe and comfortable, like a baby with his blanket But now that Fox has taken away their blanket, they are understandably confused. And theyre throwing a tantrum, just like the one Bill Clinton threw when he went on Fox with Chris Wallace.

To be fair, conservatives didnt like it when, in the days before Fox, the liberal media had no competition. But conservatives know how to deal with stuff like that, mostly because theyve always had to. Conservatives had to learn how to live in a liberal media culture. Liberals never had to adapt to a conservative culture; hence, the confusion, the anger, and ultimately... Fox derangement syndrome.

Because this is no laughing matter, I went to a psychologist I know and asked if theres a genuine scientific diagnosis for this condidtion that has left so many liberal Fox haters so disoriented. "Yes, " she said " its called crazy!"

My guess for the liberals feel threatened and not in control of what is produced and directed as a media outlet unlike the elite media ((was three ABC; NBC; and CBS) now add CNN' AP; and any other media comes from the liberal point of view.

There is nothing wrong having more than one opinion in the news! That's why Fox News has done well in media outlet on TV or web site.

Remember Hugo Chavez, he did the same thing to oppositional media groups too. This is a lib tactic to force their lies and incompetence on us.

All under a new Democrat congress too.....

I don't want Faux Noose taken off the air. It's as close to comedy as most Cons will ever get.

Because for years they have controlled virtually all the new media. Literally all Television News has a Liberal Bias, same with the Print Media.

Fox News is always 100% fair and balanced. In no way, shape or form do they distort other's views and downright lie to suit their agenda. Also, Bill O'Reilly for President.

As Biden made it painfully clear last night, they don't want people having constitutional rights. Or they seem to think people are crazy for wanting their rights protected. That whole free speech thing is giving them problems.
