bruised tailbone...ugh?

Hey ladies! Well, I'm 32 weeks and I sat down a bit too fast yesterday and bruised my tailbone, it feels like. I'm just wondering if I should even bother calling my doctor, since they don't do anything for bruised/broken tailbones besides tell you to take Tylenol and not sit ont it! lol. Any of you ever have bruised tailbones? Anything help with the pain?

I feel your pain! My son cracked my tail bone while coming down the birth canal! Ouch! I would get your doctor to examine you to make sure it is not cracked because if it is you will be terrible pain when you deliver if done naturally! My epidural didn't even work for my pain! Nor did the shots of novacain! Hope you have a better delivery than me!

Oh, I know your pain. I once cracked my tailbone & couldn't even stand up or sit down without help for a couple weeks. As long as you didn't fall, I really wouldn't bother calling the doctor becase, like you said, they really don't do anything because they can't. It's not really a bone you can help. Best advice I can give is take it very easy until the pain starts to go away. Even if you're sitting somewhere soft, I suggest using a pillow under you as well to help give you more padding. Get up & down slowly as well. Hope you feel better soon.

Ohh, I did that once when I was younger in a volleyball collision accident.. thing.. Ha.

I had to just live on the couch for a week with a heating pad on the top of my butt crack, wonderful.

But I switched back and forth from heat to ice, both seemed to work the same to me.

Sadly though, yes.. You'll just have to live off of Tylenol and try not to sit up straight. =/

I don't think there's much you can really do!

possibly bengay or heating pad may help ease the pain! or put ice on it
