Winter White Hamster Question?

I bought mineral blocks and chew toys for my hamster like the pet store said but she dosen't use any of them(it's been months) Is it ok that she doesn't eat her mineral block? Does she get enough nutrition in the food mix and vegis I give her so she doesn't need the mineral block? I have also tried taking some mineral dust from the blok and mixing it with her regular food but she won't eat it. Thanks for you help in advance.

your hamster should be fine. mineral blocks are a added nutrient to their diet, they aren't neccessary, only for added health, or to help sick ones get better faster.

I agree your hamster should be getting the nutrients it needs from the food alone. If you are really concerned about your hamsters diet, you could also supplement the pellets with drops that contain extra nutrients (they can be found at your local pet store). Many hamsters don't like/use mineral blocks.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Does your pet seem ill? If your animal is perfectly healthy, don't obsess with the vitamins and minerals. If you want to enhance her diet, do a little research and see what fresh fruits and vegetables you can safely introduce. Hamsters LOVE crickets and grasshoppers.
