Stretch mark?
I'm 26 weeks pregnant, if I don't see any sign of stretch mark by now, is it safe to say I will not have it?
My mother gave birth to 5 kids and she never had stretch mark.
Oh, crap! Just when I thought I'm off the hook! LOL
I thought it's genetic, I *almost* believe it.

You can get them later on because you still have a lot of stretching to do. But not everyone gets them (with 2 kids I never did) and a lot of it does have to do with genetics. Since your mom didn't get them you are in a good position not to also. Just make sure you are gaining healthy weight and not just eating junk.

I hope you don't get any, but I thought I was in the clear, then at 36 weeks I felt something different on by belly and when I looked in the mirror I had stretch marks.

i got my first stretch mark at around 30 weeks and then it like after one started then they spread and that was the end of a perfect tummy , i also was shy to show off my belly after the marks came, best way to get rid of them if you get some is after birth try tanning it helped me get mine to go almost completely away. you can see mine unless you look very close . good luck

I would think so. I got them really bad and pretty early on. My mom had 6 kids and never had a stretch mark.

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't have any visible stretch marks either until AFTER I delivered. They aren't too bad, but they are definitely there and red/purple in color.
I hear they fade somewhat. At least I'm hoping that's true! Good luck!

It's a good sign that your mom never got them, but I've known of women who got them within the last few DAYS of pregnancy. They can just show up like a roadmap in a day. But genetics are on your side!

im 25 weeks along and i have no stretch marks either...but i use Palmer's Coco Butter formula...a lot...and it seems to be working so just take care of yourself...don't scratch when it itches [trust me i know the feeling]...and you shouldn't have a reason as to why you should get strectch marks...don't forget about your chest too though they stretch as well...good luck!

sometimes you don't notice them until after the baby is born.,....they may be on the underside of your belly where you can't see. my mom had 5 kids as well and doesn't have any, and i have 2 and i didn't get them, so you may take after your mother.
