Should I buy a 1999 Honda CBR 900RR? Feedback needed!?

I'm looking to buy a 1999 Honda CBR 900RR Fireblade. Can someone give me some feedback on this particlar bike as far as handling, performance, etc. I love the way it looks and I've actually ridden an '93 but given the time and improvement, the '99 definitely has several improvements as far as power and weight reducion. One of the reason why I would like to buy this bike is because i got a great deal, but should I spend more money and purchase a newer bike? Is the fuel injected, newer model nowadays worth spending the extra bucks?? This would be strictly a weekend toy bike, not a daily commuter! Please advice!! Any other sportsbike I should also be considering?

I loved my 900 rr. I had a 98....nice to ride and alot of fun. The downside, they weigh a ton and they will tire you out, but I made it from buffalo, NY to Orlando FL with a backpack on.

It would be the rectifier. Late 90's Hondas used a very small one which cannot dissipate enough heat so they basically cook themselves. A good replacement is one from a Yamaha R1. They have a MUCH bigger heatsink and can get rid of the heat better. The only problem is that they are larger so mounting can be a bit of a pain.

I like the 900rr bikes. Although, from my real-time experiences they are not the fastest out there. I own a 1994 FZR1000 with mods and can beat my friends 929rr. It is close and probably comes down to rider, but the older 900rr's dont even have that power. If you dont plan on racing or driving too fast it is an excellent bike. Easy to wheely and fun to drive. Reliable. I say do it.

If its in good shape, you like swapping valve shims,Can ride well(so you don't crash) and don't need to go over 150mph.

    i sorta like this model
