eating raw food?
i was wondering why can certain animals be eaten raw, and others have to be cooked?
for example... things that we love raw (or raw-ish):
- oysters, scallops, salmon, beef
other animals like chicken or fish needs to be cooked before we consume them.
is there a scientific reason for this, or is it just a social acceptance thing?

No, it's a bacteria thing. Eating any meat raw carries a risk, but certain ones, like chicken and pork, are extremely dangerous if eaten undercooked or raw.

I've never heard of raw salmon or scallops. As far as beef..that's just stupid to eat it raw or undercooked. Most things need to be cooked to kill dangerous bacteria that human beings would get ill from. We are not designed to eat flesh.
