It's easy. I had my wedding ring resized...once made bigger when I gained weight...and once smaller when I lost it. You cannot tell by looking at the ring that anything was done. Go to a reputable jewelers and get it done, Total painless though it may cost more than mentioned here. You may want to check with jewelers before you purchase since it may cost more than the ring is worth.

Yes, any normal jeweler will size a ring for you. It will probably cost between 10-25 dollars to get it sized, and take around 3-7 days. Go for it :)

Most jewelry stores will size rings down if they are able to do so without damaging the ring. If it has a design or filigree on the band, they may not be able to re-size it. And most stores will NOT re-size silver, only gold jewelry.

Chances are that its very easy, but it can depend on the metal type and also the stone. I would talk to a jeweler before you purchased it.
