Is anybody else disappointed that IHOP bought out Applebee's?

I've felt empty inside since I found that out, myself.

It would be a little idiotic for IHOP to change applebee's that much... they bought it because it was a successful franchise.

No, because Applebee's was crap (not that IHOP is any better). But at least now, they've combined crappy forces! Maybe they will destroy some of the restaurants and make room for decent ones.

In every city that I've lived in, there has been an IHOP AND an Applebee's in very close proximity. I doubt they can keep both open in situations such as these, so there will probably be some tear downs! Hooray!

I was never really impressed with IHOP. My experiences at Applebee's lately has been barely a step above IHOP. I guess in time, their service/food/etc will be on the same level. Ans that's NOT saying much!

First I heard of it. I like IHOP, but I always order the Nature Grain and Nut pancake, HEAVEN! But the buy out may explain why when we went to Applebee's, they didn't have the country fried steak that I fell in love with when we were in Texas. I found a new favorite, though, they had a grilled salmon that had a honey sauce of some sort on it, OOHHHH it was soooo good.

I've never been impressed with IHOP. At Applebees, they have the best chicken wrap with tex-ranch dip. I hope that applebees doesn't close down...
