Temporary Tag Without Being A dealer (UPDATE)!?

Okay I seen on another question that even if you are a private seller and you provide the following:

Bill of Sale

Proof of Insurance

Inspection

Then I could get a temporary tag to do me for a week? Is this true? I got the money from the bank and I am waiting for the title to get my actual tags.

    Yes, you should be able to bring the paperwork to your DMV and get the temporary tag until they can issue you a real plate. Which might be on the spot.

    Temp tags are no good across state lines.

    Yes you can get it for a month at a time.

    WHY DON'T YOU JUST CALL YOUR LOCAL DMV OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.
