start, settings, control panel, performance and maintenance, administrative tools, computer management, device manager. click each of these in this order. when the device list shows, click on the device you want and then go to file on the top of the menu, from the drop down choose open. you are now ready to uninstall, reinstall, or update the driver for the selected hardware. if you have the driver cd, place it in the cd/dvd drive and follow the instructions on the wizard.

    this is the hard way.

a simpler way is to just go to microsoft update and do a custom update, it should show any drivers you are missing. you can then decide to install the driver from ms.

of course , a third method is to do a hardware search for new hardware through windows. since most new hardware is plug and play, it should have already been found and is in the hardware list. if it has no driver, update will get it from ms update as already mentioned.

Depends on the driver, may be sound, video, etc. The easiest is to go to the manufacturer's website (of whatever hard ware you are using such as video card, etc.) and find it. Or, visit your computer's manufacturer and check out their support page. They usually have all the drivers for your specific model, good luck!
