Has God ever given you something you couldn't not do?

I mean, have you ever found yourself compelled by forces outside yourself, that you knew to be from God's intention, that you couldn't refuse to do, even though it is something you wouldn't do, if it was up to you? Pardon the commas.

Update:

So far my favorites are from cosmiclover, papa dom, and blueapple. Thanks guys.

Sorry you've lost me here. If it helps He once told me that He was not my destiny. Didn't put me off though. Just made me think a lot.

Sure. Life is not a party or a pick nick. There are grand moments and very trying ones. The hardest ones I think have been the stretches of in-between. You know the ones I'm talking about. The stretches where nothing is happening and the word boredom rears it's pointy little head. Since I believe everything is of and from God then all of this is something I can't not do.

Does not wanting to go to Ninevah and getting swallowed by a whale count? Of course, that didn't happen to me - I'm just wondering if that is the sort of thing you are talking about.

No, I've always been able to do what he wants me to do. He said that his yoke is light and that what ever we bear he has not given us anything that we can not bear. Always he is there to carry the load and to help us out.

I believe that God always gives you things you can't do. Why? Because in order for you to accomplish it, you must call and depend on Him.

  • Apparently, I've been told he wants me to love him, but he doesn't ever show himself, so it is impossible for me to throw Love around like it is worthless, towards a being that doesn't exist, or is hiding well enough for me to believe he doesn't exist.
