Did anyone else shut their central air off?

Just curious if anyone else has shut their central air off and suffered the heat due to a real high bill.

    we keep ours at 78 and it hardly runs now but yes we did when we first moved in(then we replace the ac from 1960s and we were a-ok)

    Mine has been left on because of the terrible heat & humidity here in S.C., but mainly because my fiance has COPD. We don't worry about the cost of running it.

    Mine was struck by lightning--not fixed yet--too hot and I got to get a technician to repair it---soon. But my bills are low low low
