If I were to tell you that I could vote for a 3rd party candidate, what would you tell me?

You're welcome to vote for any candidate from any party.

And for small local elections, it might even matter.

But in the US, for President, it's a vote that will never be counted because of how the electoral college system is implemented by the states. The two dominant parties have structured things to block any minority candidate.

Actually you would be voting for a second party candidate. It's been a demopublican party for about 15 years. I fully support you and anyone who steps out of the mainstream of voting in the lesser evil. Okay I admit if Dr. No, Ron Paul, makes the ticket I'd vote for him. But if not I'll do what I've done in the past vote the Constitution Party.

came back to the republican cause they were the only way to reasonably have a chance to get elected because of the way the r"s and d"s have so slanted the party system

but all his initiatives are as close to a libertarian stance that we will see this election

Vote for the Green Party before it gets as large as the two main parties, and gets crooked too.

Look, it's great that we have other parties as well as the two big boys, but honestly, don't you think you're wasting your vote? Personally, I like the Libertarian Party but they'll never win, so really, what's the point?

i would say, good for you, although........you'd be wasting your time. Your vote would be insignificant seeing that only two candidates would have the real opportunity to win. My advice vote for the better of the two, those are the ones that count.

Well, if you really want change in this country, you're taking the right approach. The 2 party system has failed.
