I've just checked various news reports BBC,SKY and Al jazeera and the impression I get is somewhere in between.One guy staying in a hotel that was attacked reckoned certain individuals were seeking out westerners,not specifically Americans. I'm wondering if this is in retaliation for American attacks in Pakistan?No love lost between India and Pakistan anyway. Anyway I may be way off the mark,too early to tell.

Actually all those statements are/could be true true.

For an American and an Australian the ups and downs are reveresed. They will typically point in opposite directions.
