Do you think America has played role of a super power adequately?

America has never fully understood that with great power comes tremendous responsibility. It is the lack of global responsibility that has caused the US to be regarded by most of the rest of the world as a trigger happy bully.

The US has a long history of interfering in other countries political and economic processes to advance their own interests and it is this disregard for the stability of other nations that has led to this current mess in the Middle East.

When the Soviet Union was a super-power they had the effect of keeping the US in check. Now that the Soviet Union is gone there is nothing to stop the US doing exactly what it wants, where it wants and how it wants. There is no competition in the super-power stakes and therefore no real opposition.

America has a vast population, huge resources, technological, economic and military superiority but the US has very little respect for other nations to pursue their own interests and their right to self-determination. The US shows a absolute disregard for the opinions of any other country when it comes to its foreign policy.

Now we are at a point when it is quite possible that there could be war once more on a global scale. And much of the responsibility for that rests with the US.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

then USA is a group of companies having the titanic power

so USA can not and will not play a good role any time any where,

simply because it is against it structure

American people are kind, but like any people in the world

    led by politician, CNN,CBS,FOX,............

In spite of all the corruption, hypocrisy, and a couple of bad leaders. I find it hard to be completely unbiased, being an American citizen. And I would not want to bore people with any fact or figures.Simply because I don't know any.

The US is not perfect in many ways. We can find many examples of this in our countries past, allot of them being shameful. Having said that, I think yes, we have shown the world that democracy, and the freedom it represents is far more adequate than what other world super powers represent. We don't have people trying to desperately escape from our borders in search of a better life for our families.

I think America has been mostly responsible (except for the occasional bully); but the past 6 years has been very irresponsible.

Think of it like the biggest kid on the block. A responsible one doesn't go throwing his weight around, insisting everyone do what he wants. But he is there to help protect the neighbourhood kids, if they need it and ask for it.

The States still has a lot to learn. Unfortunately the present government thinks it knows it all.
