Is "Fate" the best explanation of the "Grandfather paradox" that we have??

if you could direct me to some good time theory sites or actual research papers it would be very much appreciated

    Time travel (backwards) will not be invented in the forseeable future.

    If it were, somebody would get the clever idea to go back in time and secure patent #1, thus ensuring his/her ownership of the intellectual property in perpetuity.

    The person who actually secured this patent would most likely not be the original inventor, but an opportunistic weasel who gets his hands on the build instructions and a time machine.

    Patent #1 is actually an improvement on rail design allowing trains to climb hills better and stay on slippery tracks.

    It's only a paradox if you assume that you can influence your grandfather's time line, either by personally traveling back in time or by doing it remotely from this time. Neither is clearly possible. It may turn out that both are impossible.
