darren mcfadden vs felix jones?

why does mcfadden get so much more credit and the heisman pub and all that stuff when felix jones averages nearly 2 more yards per carry (7.6 to 5.8)? mcfadden got almost twice as many carries, yet jones still got 1168 yards compared to mcfaddens 1647. if the carries were even don't you think jones would be the better back?

Update:

v town that isnt true at all if you watched the games last season. there werent that many games that ark was so far ahead to rest mcfadden and let jones rack up. jones actually had his most production in the big games, the ones that were close wins, and the losses. you don't make sense.

You obviously have not seen D-Mac play very much. While Jones is a great back, he does not have the extras that Mac has. Mac is bigger, a little faster, makes sharper cuts and has a MONSTER stiffarm for anyone that tries to take him down. I was at one of the games he played in and he is phenominal. Jones could play running back for any college, but D-Mac could play for any PRO team NOW.

No argument there average per carry 7.6 for Jones to 5.8 for McFadden, but i think McFadden is the starter and get more carries so that's why he's the feature back in theirs system. Don't feel bad for Jones he'll get More ball this year and what Auburn did with Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown. Remember those 2 Carnell the starter Brown the back up but in the NFL Draft Ronnie end up going first before Carnell. Hey i think Felix will go high in this year draft too.

McFadden received much more attention last year. The defense was happy to see him out and Jones in last year and probably relaxed a little. That's how Jones got his long runs. A lot of them also came late with the game in the books and McFadden on the sideline. McFadden is definitely better and Jones is probably the best Backup in college football.

You can't really go by the average. Plus McFadden also caught and returned a few for TDs.

though u have a good point. darrian is much more proven and barring injury felix will not see nearly as many carries this year.

Yeah, but playing time is always viewed as more important than it should be.
