Original Sin or Original Forgiveness?
This act of Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit is labeled by Christianity as the Original Sin. They say that because of this Original Sin, all people born afterwards were born in sin. The newborn baby according to Christianity is a sinner. Islam however goes on to give us a deeper lesson from the story.
It is learnt that after eating from the forbidden tree, Adam repented and God forgave him for God is Most Merciful. This is the lesson given to all Mankind by Quran. It is not of the Original Sin but of Original Forgiveness which shows the Merciful nature of God.
Man is by nature bound to commit sins either of small or major magnitude. God knows this nature of man because He is the Creator. God on the other hand is Most Merciful and is there to forgive man when he sincerely repents. The lesson derived from the Quran is much more complete and gives us a better picture of the nature of God. For forgiveness, all man needs to do is to turn towards God, repent for the wrong he did and promise not to repeat it. God who is Most Merciful then forgives the creation and on the Day of Judgment, this act will not be held up against him.
Thus the lesson which God wanted to give for all of humanity was that of Original Forgiveness rather than Original Sin. Islam teaches us this lesson and informs us that all newborns are without the burden of any sin on their shoulders. They are innocent. From the story the theme is easy to understand. God created man – Man committed sin – Man turned towards God for forgiveness – God forgave man for indeed God is Most Merciful.

Both concepts are true, just depends on how you choose to look at it. Any sin requires God's mercy. Animals were killed to cover mans original sin. The skins used to cover man. This of course is the picture of Christ. This picture was repeated throughout scripture. God is full of mercy and he does not wink at sin. We don't know the point at which God will hold a maturing individuals accountable. But you can bet it probably is the point at which a person knows what a sin is or isn't. God's mercy extends even more in a Christians point of view because God himself provided the sacrifice. Again demonstrated with Abraham and Isaac. As in that story, we do not do anything to make ourselves right before God. He does it all. We only submit our will to him. Our pride must go because it is what puts us, in our own minds, on a level with God. His mercy is unlimited. Good thing for us.

Well then, I must disagree.
Through the man Adam came sin, and through the man, the Son of God came forgiveness of sin.
The Adamic covenant, God provided a skin, a covering, an atonement for Adam and Eve.

The Islam story is partially true. Adam did NOT repent, as can be seen in Gen. 3:12, in which he blames Eve. Rather, God FORGAVE him because of His mercy (Rom. 9:16) and because he was the first human being. Then again, God does initiate/give the opportunity for repentance in Gen. 3:9-11 (see 2 Tim. 2:25). Anyways, notice that God spares Adam and Eve a direct cursing, unlike the serpent. From the ground, from the dust, came Adam's descents. Deut. 24:16 “ Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin. Gen. 3:17 Cursed is the ground because of you; Adam and Eve were forgiven. It's implied in Gen. 3:21: The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them. Their descendents were cursed in their place (Rom. 8:20-21). Original sin is FALSE. Good desire can be found in man (Rom. 7:18, Matt. 26:41, Job 32:7-9) or God would not have interest in him (Job 7:17; Job 15:14; Acts 17:27; Psalm 14:2). Also consider Acts 17:26 and Isaiah 57:15. This is what the Bible teaches: every person is a child of God until they sin and do not repent of it. For example, homosexuals do not go to hell because of their sin, but because of not repenting and continuing to live homosexual lives. But if they have genuine desire for God, God can intervene in their life.

man will be punished for their own sins and not for adams transgression. If Adam didn't eat the fruit, we would not be here and adam and eve would still be in the garden of eden with out a care in their heart. If they did, life would start and the cycle would start so that children may be born and people will die

The innocence of all new children is proof that mankind is born innocent and pure.
It is the corruption of tradition, culture in the guise of religion which corrupts and spreads corruption.
For proof I point to the status quo of mankind in some of the so-called "holy" places, so filled with violence, hate, killing and war.

"Islam teaches us this lesson and informs us that all newborns are without the burden of any sin on their shoulders. They are innocent." So, is that why they blow up women and children with suicide bombs in the hope that they will be with virgins in Paradise?
