digital cable box?
I have basic cable and i won digital cable box from radio shack. I was told from a cable technical adviser whom is my friend, said that all i have to do is just hook up the box and i would get free channels and pay per view and that he gave me a low frequency filter, and told me that it would work. Is this true or can some body give me any advice. My cable company is time warner.

you still have to have the cable company to activate the box, if they do not authorize it , it wont get all the channels, and as far as the pay per views, they come from time warner and they wont be free, any filter traps out service not adds service, possibly they wont even activate it if its not compatible with theyre system

You will not get a Digital signal unless you call Time Warner & upgrade to Digital Cable Box. That Digital box from Radio Shack is no good unless the signal going to it is Digital.
