Like you, however, I was watching cost. I did not have very much to spend. I found a Belkin F5DF7230-4. It sells $39.99. (I bought mine at Home Depot, but I have seen it on the Dell web-site, and in other stores for about the same price.)

The Belkin I bought works great! I have a 2-story house, and the router is upstairs in the corner of a bedroom. I get a very good signal all over the house, and even outside on the porch.

Also, about the same time I bought my router, a friend asked my wife to come over and help them install a Linksys router they had bought. The Linksys router was very difficult to install, but our Belkin was no problem at all! (The Linksys help line provided little, if any, help)

I highly recommend the Belkin!

Try to buy a netgear router. I have one and i could connect from my friend's house who lives up the street. They have some for like $45. It is model WGR614. Try to get one like 75. They last for a long time. Don't buy a linksys. They always burnout and you will have to get a new one. Hope that helps.
