How does a "manafacturer buy-back" titled vehicle affect it's resale value?

I am considering purchasing a 04 Vovlo S60 R with fantastic mileage and in great condition. The rub is that it was a "manufacturer buy-back" vehicle due to repeated attempts to fix squeaking in the brakes (problem never resolved). If I purchased the vehicle and wanted to trade it in or privately sell it a few years down the road, how does this titling of the car as a "manufacturer buy-back" affect it's value?

most cars will have a rattle or squeak after a few years on the road don't worry about it unless it affects a safty issue.

Non at all. Your title was never affected as if it were salvaged or branded. The dealer you are purchasing this vehicle from has to disclose to the second owner "you" that you are buying a car that had been bought back by the manufacturer. If you agree to purchase the car and sign the documents stating that you understand what you are buying, that is where it stops. No further disclosure is needed by you once you get ready to resell later. There will be nothing negative on your title, so rest easy.

That's code for LEMON. Don't buy the car.
