Craigslist is far and away the most-used online classifieds.

A good website you should definitely check out would be http://www.gosasa.com/ as it basically lets you search all the free classified sources in one site. You can find things from craigslist, ebay, newspapers (such as the New York Times or san Diego Union Tribue as well as local papers), autotrader, realtor, etc.
Browsing all the free classified sites in one is a pretty neat thing!
