Breeding melanochromis cyaneorhabdos?

How can I identify Males from females in this species? I have two of them, also how Can I determine their age? I guess by their size, one is like 2" and the other is like 1 and a half inches. bought them at the same time and the same size, and they have grown considerably... So when would they be ready to to breed.

Females will be somewhat smaller than the males. The males and females will be similar in color, but the males is more intensly colored, especially on the "belly" area. The males also have slightly longer pelvic fins.

The only way to accurately know their age is to have spawned them yourself, but from the sizes given, yours are probably less than a year old.
