What do our space ships need for humans to survive a trip to another planet and back?

    I don't thinkany type of metal can block solar winds, but maybe if we can make our own magnetic field that will block the radiation like our earth does.

    Our planets are too far away for any human to survive the trip, because it takes years and years to get there.

    lead can block it, and cobalt if I remember correctly.

    One of the main disputes to the US landing on the moon revolves around radiation.

    Actually any metal can block it, but it may need to be very thick.

    If one puts their supply of water as a shield between the sun and themselves, that is sufficient. Just keeping their bulk of storage will help, but it seems that it is just an occupational hazard one must accept.
