Are Wal-Mart card payments reported to credit bureaus?
I would like to know for sure whether payments made toward a balance on a Wal-Mart credit card are reported to credit bureaus, i.e., will they build credit. Wal-Mart has two different cards, the Wal-Mart Discover card which is a full credit card, and the store card which goes through GE money bank and can only be used at Wal-Mart. I would like to know the influence on credit for both types of cards. Thanks.

Both of them will show up on your credit report. If you make your payments on time and regularly and keep your balance at less than 30% of the available balance then they will be a positive influence on your credit score.

A credit card is a credit card and as soon as that was activated it was registered to you.
If you are a first time credit card owner it can be a bonus for you to have the card to help you build credit.
However if you have many cards that are being used it can be used against you. Especially some of the smaller ones that go through their own bank. The interest rates tend to be higher.

The full credit card will be reported everywhere but the store only card is something else. In a big setup like Walmart it probably is reported for the good and Definitely reported if you are a late payer.

I believe all credit cards are reported to credit bureaus. We had a Walmart credit card and I know that it was on our credit report. Credit is everything. Try to keep it good!!!
