It was a good call on your part :) You did the right thing to tell her to give the dog hydrogen peroxide, you told her to call the vet ! It don't take money to call a vet that's free, they would of told her she did the right thing by giving the dog peroxide, but I'm sure they would of asked her to bring the dog in so they could see the dog. I'm like you, my pets are my kids & if one of my kids get sick or hurt I take them to the dr's. It should be this way with the pets too ! There are vets that will bill you later, so you can make payments until you pay the bill off, not all vets will do this but some do. I do not understand why people have pets if they can't take care of them, they need more the just food and water & love, they also need medical too.There is also insurance for your pets, that helps you with your vet bills & the $$ are worth it.. Maybe you can tell your friend so she can look into it. I'm not sure why your friend did not call the vet, but again, you did what you could .That's all you could of done & she is lucky to have a friend like you that cares so much about her & her pet, that wanted to help ! I hope their are more people out there like you :)

Because people don't want to waste money at the vet if they can in any way avoid it. I am surprised that people don't take their pets out back and shoot them instead of putting them to sleep. Some people are unwilling to spend a penny extra on a dog. Although calling the vet is free.
