Time to play Devil's advocate: What if Obama's right?

Obama came out with his Anti-terror plans which could include cutting aid to Pakistan and if needed sending troops into the mountains of Pakistan if they have good Intel that there are terrorists holed up there.

And as if almost on cue every other Democratic candidate bellowed their disgust at even suggesting that the U.S. might need to have an incursion into another country which ironically is an ally of ours, in order to root out Bin Laden. It's been lambasted by several people here but considering the geography in the region and the fact that the only logical escape route for Bin Laden was into the mountains of Pakistan, also considering reports from US Intel and Chertoff's gut, Al Qaeda in that region up to its pre 9/11 strength, I have to wonder:

What if Obama’s course of action is right and in this fight, inevitable?

Update:

If he's right, does that mean that Musharref doesn't have the political will to kill the terrorists in his own country or worse, is just pocketing the foreign aid we give him for rooting out terrorist in his country?

If the goal is to kill terrorists anywhere then why is it that “Anywhere” doesn’t include our ally’s back country?

If new recruits can get into that area to train and plan then we can too!

    So can the Pakistani military!

    Obama IS right!

I think most Americans would support that plan. In fact, even many anti-war liberals supported the campaign in Afghanistan, and they also support bringing Bin Laden to justice. I think it's good that Obama mentioned military action, because that's something that no Democrat seems willing to do. Of all countries in the world, Pakistan seems the most logical to go after (and not really Pakistan the country but rather the areas of Pakistan that we think could be harboring terrorists).

I'm leary of Obama though because he's making a lot of lofty promises, and his lack of experience makes him unpredictable. Will he really try and do these things, or is he just lying to get elected? Being a conservative though I can confidently state that I would initially tolerate him as president and if I see progress I can support him.

That's anothe reason I like Obama so much. He's willing to express opinions that defy conventional wisdom. He usually makes a lot of sense, and has demonstrated better judgment than any other candidate.

Musharef has been an okay ally in the "war on terror," but that's making him unpopular with many in his country, where Islam is strong and the U.S. isn't popular. His ability to rout the Taliban and Al Qaeda from the mountainous northwest territories is rather limited. Allowing our troops in to do the job he can't makes it seem like he doesn't control his country. We would be doing him a favor by invading and finished what we started in Afghanistan.

I agree with Obama , that this is a war on terror , not a war in Iraq , and I agree with him that that would be a good way to solve our problem , but let me tell you something , I think America over reacts to everything , from Communism , to Viet Nam , we over react to almost everything , I think the best decision would be to strengthen our relations , economy , health care, and increase our security in our country. Terroristts use terror as their weapons. We have overreacted to Iran , they are a very cosmopolitan country, but We NEED A DISCUSSION. THE WORLD IS SICK OF US < WE ARE EITHER GOING TO DEAL WITH THE TERRORISTS OR DEAL WITH THE WORLD!

If we can't "win" in Iraq, we can't "win" in Pakistan. We have another half-witted war, justed started by the other party. The lesson is that Al-Qaida isn't a country, it's a movement. We can't beat them, with conventional warfare.

Well, they are fighting them in Waziristan region and taking heavy casualties. Pakistan has to walk a fine line, hate to see them fall to AQ. Especially with their nuke stockpiles.

Obama is right. What we have NOT been doing is fighting a global war on terror. To do this , we must go into other countries.

If they are harboring Bin Ladin and refuse to get him themselves or let us get him, they are not our ally.
